Yellow-rumped Warbler
Paruline à croupion jaune
Setophaga coronata
- Description
- This warbler has four yellow patches (crown, rump, sides), which clearly identify it in all plumage except that of the juvenile. Breeding plumage is much brighter in the male than in the female.
- Interesting Fact
- The Yellow-rumped Warbler is the only warbler able to digest the waxes contained in bayberries found especially along our coastlines. The ability to use these fruits allows it to winter farther north than other warblers.
