• Description

  The Wood Frog can be reddish, tan or dark brown with a dark mask starting from the eye. Adults can grow to 8 cm. The only frog in eastern Canada that has a black mask. Wood Frogs sound like sharp quacks similar to a duck.

  Conifers or Softwoods, Deciduous or Hardwoods, Forest, Fresh Water Ponds, Mixed Woods, Moist Woodlands

• Interesting Fact

  Wood Frogs can tolerate being frozen. They will become darker when it is cold to absorb more heat.
