- Description
- This green alga from Japan lives underwater and sometimes can be found washed up on the shore bleached white. Fleece-like to the touch with a green thick and spongy y-shaped cylindrical branches, 3 to 10 mm in diameter. It can grow to 90 cm long.

- Attaches itself to the bottom with a strong holdfast, sometimes may cause oyster and other shells to which it is attached to float away.
