• Description

  The gray cap and hindneck, orange triangle on the side of the face, and blurry grayish streaking on the buffy breast distinguish this sparrow from other sparrows. The male’s hissing song is easily recognized.

• Interesting Fact

  This is the only Canadian songbird that nests in saltmarshes.
