• Description

  Our most common and largest snake found in Eastern Canada. They vary in colour but tend to be black with three stripes, one on the back and one on each sides. Females can give birth to 10-40 live young in mid-summer.

  Conifers or Softwoods, Deciduous or Hardwoods, Forest, Forest Debris, Forest Edges, Forest Openings

• Interesting Fact

  It can grow to over a meter in length.
