• Description

  The crown of this tree is conic and the bark is scaly and brownish. The needles are flattened with two distinct white lines on the underside of the needle.

  Conifers or Softwoods, Forest, Freshwater Marshes, Mixed Woods, Moist Woodlands, Suburban Forest

• Interesting Fact

  Eastern Hemlock is incredibly shade tolerant, surviving with as little as 5% of full sunlight. The tree is also capable of withstanding suppression for as long as 400 years.
