- Description
- The Atlantic Silverside resembles a small smelt. It has a silvery line along its sides. They school over shallow water along the coast. There are two fins on its back; the first is very small with only 4 spines. Grows to 13.7 cm.

- They often follow the tide in search of small crustaceans, marine worms, fish fry and eggs. In turn, they are important food for other species.
